University of Algarve
The University of Algarve, based in Faro, was created in 1979 as a result of the merger of the University of Algarve and the Polytechnic Institute of Faro. The University of Algarve (UAlg) is a Portuguese public higher education institution located in the Algarve, mainland Portugal's southernmost region. It has its headquarters and three of its four campuses in Faro (the Gambelas, Penha, and Health School campuses), as well as one in Portimo.
This institution plays a critical role in connecting its own students with regional businesses and local government entities in order to boost the community's economic and long-term development.
Furthermore, the University of Algarve is situated in a unique position in southern Portugal, which is also one of the most beautiful areas for leisure activities.
