University of Aden

The University of Aden was the second Yemeni institution to be formed in the Republic of Yemen, following Sana'a College, which was founded in the same year. The University of Aden began with the establishment of the College of Education in 1970 and Nasser's College for Agricultural Sciences in 1972. The Minister of Education had jurisdiction and responsibility over the two colleges. The College of Economics was established in 1974, and it has since evolved to include numerous colleges such as the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Administration, and so on.


The University of Aden began with the establishment of the College of Education in 1970 and Nasser's College for Agricultural Sciences in 1972. The Minister of Education had jurisdiction and responsibility over the two colleges. The College of Economics was established in 1974. Every college has its own administrative structure. University of Aden's goals are to (1) prepare and qualify scientific cadres in specializations, (2) conduct scientific research that serves social and economic development, and (3) present technical consultations for various state foundations. It was officially accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Yemen.
