University of Science and Technology
Yemen's University of Science and Technology (Yemen's USTY) is a for-profit private institution. The institution is governed by an independent Board of Trustees and provides bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs.
The University of Science and Technology was founded in 1994. It is a private higher education institution based in Sana'a, with branches in Aden, Taiz, Ibb, Hadhramaut, and Hodiedah. University of Science and Technology (USTY) is a coeducational higher education institution that was formally approved by Yemen's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The University of Science and Technology (USTY) provides courses and programs that lead to legally recognized higher education degrees, including as bachelor's degrees, in a variety of fields.
In a competition conducted by Engineering World Health on August 8, 2013, USTY engineering students received sixth place out of 10 projects for their invention of a low-cost leakage current tester. Later, two more engineering students received the "Babakr" organization's prize for exceptional innovations in Yemen: Hussan Yousif Al-"Device Hitari's for the Quality of Intensive Care Ventilator Devices," and Omar Shami, Tawfiq Al-Bakri, Murad Soubaih, and Hasan Amron's "Fetal Duopler."
