Van Gogh is Bipolar
This chaotic eatery, which is every bit as interesting as it sounds, is housed in a tiny area crammed with curios and artworks. It's led by artist Jetro, who prepares completely unique and delectable meals in a riotous atmosphere where you'll almost certainly dine wearing a flashy hat (grab one from the hatstand). Dinners consist of three to five courses, while lunch is a la carte.
Jetro created the space as a haven to help him with non-pharmaceutical treatment for his bipolar disorder. The dining room has a beautiful lemongrass scent, and the food is made using natural ingredients that are said to have mood-enhancing characteristics. Dinner reservations are strongly advised, especially on weekends. Van Gogh is Bipolar is truly a driving force behind Maginhawa St's rise as a gastronomic hotspot in Manila.
