Walt Disney is probably no longer a strange name for those whose childhood is closely associated with fairy images, typically Mickey Mouse. Part of The Walt Disney Company, the company was founded in 1953 as Buena Vista Distribution Company, a company specializing in the distribution of films by Walt Disney Studios. Buena Vista's first product release was the Academy Award-winning live-action film, The Living Desert, on November 10, 1953, with Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom, the first animated feature film released by Buena Vista. . Their later notable productions include the foreign film, Yang Kwei Fei (The Noblest Woman), released in US theaters in September 1956, The Missouri Traveler in March 1958 and The Big Fisherman in July 1959 (the first third studio film to be financially supported by Disney).
