Warbah Island
Warbah Island is a Kuwaiti island located near the mouth of the Euphrates River in the Persian Gulf. It's about 100 meters (110 yards) east of Kuwait's mainland, 1.5 kilometers (0.93 miles) north of Bubiyan Island, and 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) south of Iraq's mainland. With a total area of 37 square kilometers, it is approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) long and 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) wide (14 square miles).
Although the government maintains a coastguard station designated M-1 on the island, which is partially sponsored by the United Nations, the island has no permanent population.
Warbah Island is a large mudflat 1.5 kilometers north of Bubiyan Island, where visitors can see a few migratory species. The island is described as a paradise and, of course, the biggest tourist attraction in Kuwait for bird watchers, and it is frequently busy during the summer months. Humpback whales and bottle-nose dolphins have been spotted. The island is worth photographing for Instagram purposes.
