  4. Fred Lutgens graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. and an M.S. Ed Tarbuck earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth and his master's degree from Indiana University. Both are retired professors from Illinois Central College. Since 1970, they have been good friends and colleagues.


    Earth Science, Lutgens and Tarbuck's first college textbook, was published in 1976.
