  1. Lake Ohrid, claimed to be Europe's oldest lake, is located on the Albanian-Macedonian border. Many visitors consider this to be one of the Best Diving Sites in Macedonia. Lake Ohrid is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the charming lakeside town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Balkans, and with good reason.

In the region around Ohrid, about 250 archaeological sites have been unearthed, containing objects going back to the Neolithic period. Lake Ohrid diving allows you to discover the ancient secrets of this magnificent lake. The diving shop was immediately next to the Bay of the Bones Museum. The museum is one of Ohrid's most intriguing attractions, so it's a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

For divers, it's a magical place. Scuba diving provides an exciting glimpse into the undersea world, but adding historical allure may elevate the experience. Ohrid is an ancient treasure trove, and the lake offers a new kind of archaeological delight. Thousands of years ago, evidence of life sat unspoiled and well preserved. In a hundred years, the world will have a completely different population than it has now.

  2. The crystal blue color of Lake Debar will blind you along the way to Debar, but the stench of sulphur will catch you off guard. Debar Lake, which blends into the natural scenery at the confluence of the rivers Crni Drim and Radika, is hard to believe is man-made. It is one of the Best Diving Sites in Macedonia.

Lake Debar or Spilje is an artificial lake in western Macedonia, south of Debar, near the location of Spilje Bridge, where the river Radika falls into the river Crin Drim. It is close to the Albanian-Macedonian border. It covers 13.2 km2, is 92 meters deep, and is at 580 meters above sea level. Debar Lake, located five kilometers from Debar in the Debar valley, contains the most water in Macedonia.

Debar Lake is a popular diving destination for locals as well as visitors from nearby nations. The enchanting blue sea water will attract visitors even when diving deep down. Besides, The Racicki Monastery boasts a lovely view of Debar Lake. The monastery was built in the year 1800. In 1835, the primary monastery temple dedicated to Saint George was completed.

  3. Lake Mavrovo (Macedonian: аврoво, Macedonian: [mavrv]) is a valley region in the Republic of North Macedonia's northwest corner. Mavrovo National Park and a winter sports complex are also located here. Mavrovo, Nikiforovo, Leunovo, and Mavrovi Anovi are some of the settlements and minor hamlets.

Mavrovo is the name given to this microregion after the village of Mavrovo, which is the most populous community in the area. The region's location atop Bistra Mountain and Lake Mavrovo has aided its development as a year-round tourist destination. Lake Mavrovo is North Macedonia's most popular diving destination. 4. Lake Matka may be Macedonia's oldest man-made lake, yet its natural beauty is anything from artificial. Matka Canyon is only 15 kilometers from the heart of Skopje and offers a spectacular weekend getaway filled with rustic local delicacies in gorgeous natural surroundings, as well as a bustling, fun environment during the day and quiet and solitude at night.

The impressive Vrelo underwater cave – one of the world's deepest – can be reached by well-used wooden boats for only 5 euro per person, as well as a challenging 6km long hiking trail cut through the sheer cliffs along the lake, cave diving, and more.

The massive immensity of Lake Matka becomes obvious as you go along the dam. You'll come to an outdoor bar and restaurant after a few curves. The scenery was breathtaking. You may rent a kayak, take a boat excursion to a cave, go diving, continue trekking around the canyon, hike up to St Nicholas Monastery, or enjoy a beverage at the bar outside from here.

There were apparently two lakes inside - a little one and a much larger one that divers have yet to reach the bottom of. Outside the cave, divers may enter the enormous lake, which is claimed to be Europe's largest. Many visitors consider Lake Matka to be one of the Best Diving Sites in Macedonia.
