  1. The blip on the globe that is Rolas Island is known for its glittering white-sand beaches and paradisiacal façade, languishing in the Atlantic like the teardrop of Sao Tome, just a short boat trip away from the southern tip of the island. The beaches are always completely private, tumbling down from the jungle-covered shore in a combination of boulder-dotted bays and vast lengths of sun-splashed white colors.

A trip to Rolas Island is a terrific way to spend a morning or afternoon. Take a boat to the island, which boasts a beautiful sandy beach on a little spit surrounded by blue waters. You may tour the island, which has a tiny fishing community and regularly sees fish drying on racks. There is a lot of coral around the island, and the snorkeling is fantastic. In addition, this place has also a renowned hotel resort here, as well as a monument commemorating the equator's courses, which cross directly in the center of Rolas.

    • Santana, a popular destination for beachgoers and luxury seekers looking for Sao Tome's fabled cocktail of sand, sea, and sun on the Atlantic, spills down to the shoreline on the island's eastern edge, emerging from the lanky palms of the jungle and the volcanic hills like some forgotten village in the land of Robinson Crusoe. It's best known for the famed Club Santana Resort, which provides bungalows and lovely cabanas just a few steps from Santana Beach's golden dunes.

    • São Tomé's little capital has some magnificent Portuguese colonial architecture, and it's worth spending a couple of hours going about, discovering the streets, and conversing with the friendly residents. Explore the Central Market here, weaving between terracotta-tiled mansions, stunning Baroque facades, and the cannon-dotted bulwarks of Fort Sao Sebastian, all before seeing the National Museum's intriguing displays. Many São Tomé day tours include a visit to these landmarks as well as lunch at a local restaurant.

    • Praia Banana, cited as one of the most famous beaches on Principe, is a pristine stretch of sand that filmed a Bacardi commercial in the 1990s. The beach is accessible through a Principe boat excursion or by 444 down the woodland route on the Belo Monte Estate.

This picture-perfect tropical beach, formerly the subject of a world-famous Bacardi advertising (you'll remember it when you see it), is located on the grounds of Roça Belo Monte, a 15 minutes walk from the front gate. It is initially observed from above, from a clifftop mirador, before descending to sea level, where its golden sands, shaped like a banana, are found beneath swaying palms. A modest bar and lounge chairs have hidden among the trees. There's snorkeling at both ends, great swimming, and kayaks accessible from resort employees. The locals are all extremely friendly and hospitable. Therefore, this beautiful beach will bring visitors many wonderful experiences.

    • Pico Cão Grande, a needle-shaped volcanic plug standing 370 meters above the steamy tropical forest, is one of the most excellent things to view in Obô National Park. This abrupt mountain, which is frequently enveloped by whirling mists, is one of the best vistas on São Tomé. It's unusual to view the top without a cloud, which adds to the mystery. People are attempting to climb it, however, locals have stated that the mountain is unclimbable owing to its location in a tropical landscape, where it rains most of the time or is foggy and wet. There is also moss, which makes it difficult to climb. Because the fog does not often allow for the visibility of this volcanic tower, it is difficult to view it in "one piece."

The path to the tower is blocked by an impenetrable thicket of enormous ferns and lianas. The grounds are infested with snakes, which may be seen even as you ascend the tower. It is not the tallest mountain on the islands; it is only ranked 37th among all summits, indicating that there are many intriguing peaks like this one. This peak, however, is a volcanic plug formed when lava from another volcano solidified hardened magma over the entrance of an active volcano. Alluring and always pointing to the sky.

    • If you're looking for a place to get your coffee fixed on São Tomé, we recommend Monte Café. Monte Café, founded in 1850, was the largest and most profitable coffee and cocoa estate in São Tomé and Príncipe, with coffee shipped worldwide.

Today, you may explore the fading grandeur of the colonial buildings and learn about coffee manufacturing at the National Coffee Museum. Of course, you may sample the finished product before you leave. A wooded walk goes from Monte Café to the stunning 20-meter-high So Nicolau waterfall, a fantastic location to cool down after a jungle hike surrounded by nature. The falls are a popular attraction for nature enthusiasts and walkers in São Tomé and Príncipe. Once there, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of the country's palm-dotted mountains, as well as an acclaimed coffee museum that chronicles the production, sales, and history of the island's principal industry.

    • São João dos Angolares is a tiny village in São Tomé and Príncipe located on the east shore of São Tomé Island. It is the administrative center of the Caué District. Set the curious Creole sound of the locals and return from the beautiful sand arc that is Praia Sao Joao dos Angolares, this 2,000-strong east coast town is a great choice for the holidays comfortable. There are countless guesthouses with swinging hammocks and earthen kitchens offering São Tomé’s mix of traditional Portuguese curries and Creole-style plates.

And the scenery is simply chilling vibes: jungle in the ocean breeze, houses painted in beautiful Caribbean colors, people smiling, and the days passing slowly. São João dos Angolares has a warm, oppressive, windy, and cloudy environment. Throughout the year, the temperature normally ranges from 74°F to 82°F, with temperatures seldom falling below 72°F or rising over 83°F. The greatest time of year to visit it for warm-weather activities, according to the tourist score, is from mid-June to late September.

    • Boca do Inferno (or Hell’s Mouth in English) is a blowhole along the southern coast of São Tomé just a few kilometers south of town and not far from Água Izé village. It’s an easy addition to a road trip on this side of the island and is quite spectacular when water rushes up through the rocky basalt inlets and spouts high above your head. The name is explained by the awe-inspiring noise of the sea, and it was in this dramatic scenery of high waves and caves that English magician Aleister Crowley faked his death in 1930 (only to reappear in Berlin three weeks later).

Visitors flock to this spot just a short drive south of the capital, to see as the salty whitecaps crash against the shore, and the currents draw water into a subterranean cave, all before they shoot sky-high like some marine geyser. The sight is something on its own; made all the better by the gorgeous black-rock cliffs and volcanic headlands jutting out and erupting from the coast all around.

    • As a visitor, there isn't much to do in this tranquil fishing hamlet, but it's frequently included as a quick stop on the route to Praia Jalé during São Tomé day trips. Interesting crumbling structures, such as the old army barracks, offer fantastic photo possibilities, and it's an interesting view into what life is like for these coastal towns here on the islands. Porto Alegre is nothing like its Brazilian counterpart.

Instead of a million people, this one has a little more than 500. Porto Alegre is a ramshackle collection of earthy huts, stilted longhouses, and fading fishing boats, rather than countless barrios and expansive contemporary districts. Nonetheless, it has a lot of charm and is one of the starting sites for the São Tomé whale watching circuit (which runs the length of the east coast). It's also an excellent starting point for further adventures along the south shore's beautiful beaches - Jale, paradisiacal Praia Piscina – and the stunning stretches of Rolas Island.

    • Lagoa Azul (Portuguese for "blue lagoon") is a small bay north of São Tomé Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. It is part of the Parque Natural Obô de São Tomé. It is 4 km northwest of the town of Guadalupe. It's a popular spot for diving. There is a lighthouse built on a cliff near São Tomé and Príncipe Bay, built in 1997. Walk up to the lighthouse for this beautiful coastal view!

This attractive cove with aquamarine waters is perhaps too popular, as it is developing a garbage problem. Just after the Km17 marker, turn towards the sea at the 'Lagoa Azul' sign. The beaches are covered with round lenticular basalt rocks that often contain small crystals or radial calcite aggregates, bringing a unique and novel feeling to the visitors. This is a very worthwhile experience for visitors to try when coming to São Tomé and Príncipe
