Pico Cão Grande
Pico Cão Grande, a needle-shaped volcanic plug standing 370 meters above the steamy tropical forest, is one of the most excellent things to view in Obô National Park. This abrupt mountain, which is frequently enveloped by whirling mists, is one of the best vistas on São Tomé. It's unusual to view the top without a cloud, which adds to the mystery. People are attempting to climb it, however, locals have stated that the mountain is unclimbable owing to its location in a tropical landscape, where it rains most of the time or is foggy and wet. There is also moss, which makes it difficult to climb. Because the fog does not often allow for the visibility of this volcanic tower, it is difficult to view it in "one piece."
The path to the tower is blocked by an impenetrable thicket of enormous ferns and lianas. The grounds are infested with snakes, which may be seen even as you ascend the tower. It is not the tallest mountain on the islands; it is only ranked 37th among all summits, indicating that there are many intriguing peaks like this one. This peak, however, is a volcanic plug formed when lava from another volcano solidified hardened magma over the entrance of an active volcano. Alluring and always pointing to the sky.
