Grand Bahama is the northernmost of the Bahamas' islands and a frequent stopover for cruise ships and package visitors. One of the greatest draws in the Bahamas is the Atlantis resort, which includes a luxury hotel, aquarium, water park, and entertainment complex. Designers of the Atlantis Resort went to considerable efforts to reproduce this fantasy universe. Seahorses, helmeted domes, and massive bronze doors are among the decorations that depict actual and legendary creatures. The Aquaventure water park is fun for both kids and adults. Lucayan National Park - the natural jewel of Grand Bahama is this 16-hectare national park. The park, located 40 kilometers east of Ranfurly Circle, is famed for its underwater cave system, which is one of the world's longest. A small walkway leads to two of the caves: Ben's Cave and Burial Mound Cave. Ben's Cave is home to tiny buffy flower bats, and in 1986, the remains of the island's first inhabitants, the Lucayans, were unearthed in the Burial Mound Cave.

The Lucayan National Park is especially unusual in that it has all six vegetation zones found in the Bahamas. The secluded and beautiful Gold Rock Beach is accessible via mangrove trails and is well worth a visit if you're passing through. You'll encounter more raccoons and seagulls than people, but keep an eye on your food at the beachside picnic area; the raccoons are brazen (but harmless) scavengers.

Ardastra Gardens & Wildlife Conservation Park is a must-see for people who enjoy learning about the other regions' flora and animals. The zoo, conservation park, and gardens are all combined to provide visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about nature by getting up and personal with it. This zoo houses the largest number of native Bahamian species, including the flamingo family, as well as beautiful gardens with vivid fruit trees and other attractions, making it one of the top locations to visit in the Bahamas.

The Zoo is built on four acres of tropical gardens and is well known as the home of the marching flamingos. Visitors are entertained by the flamingos marching in the formation in response to directions.

Elbow Cay in the Abacos, located across the sheltered Sea of Abaco from the boating hub of Marsh Harbour, has all the charm of a New England-style fishing community. The main streets of Hope Town, the island's major settlement, are lined with colourful cottages, and the heart of town is off-limits to automobiles, giving it a relaxing, village vibe.

Hope Municipality, known for its candy-striped lighthouse, is home to a vibrant expatriate community who enjoy the island's beautiful palm-lined beaches, closeness to Marsh Harbour, the country's third-largest town, and good boating options. The Wyannie Malone Historical Museum is a must-see, and day trips to adjacent Guana Cay and the Tilloo Cay Reserve, an 11-acre bird sanctuary, are popular. A well-developed marina may also be found in Hope Town. Hurricane Dorian slammed over Elbow Cay in September of this year.
