Tha Falang is one of the top attractions in the Khammouane Province, located 16km northeast of Thakhek along route 12 to Mahaxay. On the left, there is a 2-kilometer route that can be accessed by a mountain bike or 4-wheel drive (but not during the rainy season).
When the water level is high, the road transforms into a stream, making it only accessible by boat. Bungva Lake is a sizable freshwater lake in Laos that is adjacent to Savannakhet. Locals frequently picnic there and hang out there on the weekends and on holidays.
