    IU

    IU is unquestionably the most popular female Kpop idol in Korean dramas. Her first experience acting in a Korean drama was in the teen drama Dream High. Her first leading role was in the Korean television series You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin. Her cast and crew praised her for her performance. She also received favorable critical acclaim and was nominated for the Excellence in Acting Award (Best Actress in a Serial Drama) at the 2013 KBS Drama Awards.


    She hit her stride after appearing in the Korean drama The Producers and, a year later, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. This was the pinnacle of her popularity in China. This resulted in her best performance to date, when she starred in My Mister, one of the highest-rated Korean dramas of all time. This success paved the way for her next major Korean drama hit, Hotel del Luna. Her acting has improved to the point where people forget her primary talent is singing and songwriting.

    Suzy

    Many people predicted that Suzy would have a successful acting career rather than a singer because she began as a model. She, like IU, made her acting debut in the teen Korean drama Dream High. Suzy was named Best New Actress at the KBS Drama Awards. She then went on to appear in films and reality shows before landing a supporting role in the KBS drama Big. Her next role was in the historical Korean drama Gu Family Book, for which she received the MBC Drama Awards Top Excellence Award as well as the Seoul International Drama Awards' Outstanding Actress Award.


    While You Were Sleeping, a fantasy thriller, was one of her most successful Korean dramas. She was able to follow that up a few years later with the spy-action drama Vagabond. However, the Korean drama Start-Up, in which she played an aspiring female entrepreneur aspiring to be South Korea's Steve Jobs, catapulted Suzy to the top of the charts in 2020.

    Hyeri

    It's not surprising that Hyeri pursued acting after graduating from Konkuk University's Seoul School of Performing Arts with a major in Film. Her SBS weekend drama Tasty Life marked her acting debut. She quickly rose to prominence, eventually winning the Best Female Newcomer Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards for her performance in another show called Real Men. Her first leading role was in the teen drama Schoolgirl Detectives, and she went on to star in the romantic comedy-drama Hyde, Jekyll, Me.


    Her best role to date has to be her lead performance in the Korean drama Reply 1988. It was a huge commercial success and was one of the highest-rated Korean dramas of all time. She ended up getting the lead role in an SBS drama called Entertainer where she ended up winning the New Star Award at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards. Her next role was in the police comedy-drama called Two Cops. She went on to do two films but got back into Korean dramas when she starred in the Korean office comedy-drama, Miss Lee.

    Yoona

    Yoona began filming commercials, music videos, and feature films at a young age. She is now heavily involved in both Korean and Chinese dramas. Her acting career began with minor roles in MBC dramas Two Outs in the Ninth Inning and Woman of Matchless Beauty. Yoona played the lead in the KBS drama You Are My Destiny, and she stated that this role was a watershed moment in her career. She was named Best New Actress twice, once at the 2008 KBS Drama Awards and once at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards. She was able to land the lead role in the MBC drama Cinderella Man as a result of this recognition.


    After a few years off, Yoona got back into acting after being cast for the lead role in the KBS fantasy drama Love Rain and a year later in the romantic comedy-drama Prime Minister & I. Her later performance got her an Excellence Award at the 2013 KBS Drama Awards. For the next few years, she focused on Chinese Dramas before starring in the Korean action thriller The K2.     Eunji made her acting debut in Reply 1997, one of the highest-rated Korean series on cable television at the time. Her ability to do an authentic Busan accent impressed many critics. This role earned her numerous awards, including the 49th Baeksang Arts Award for Best New TV Actress. Her next role was in the 2013 Korean melodrama That Winter, the Wind Blows as a supporting character. She won Best Performance at the 2nd APAN Star Awards and New Star at the SBS Drama Awards for this role.


    She went on to star in the romantic comedy series Trot Lovers and, a year later, in the high school drama Cheer Up! Her most recent appearance was in the action melodrama Untouchable. She hasn't appeared in a Korean drama in a few years. Hopefully, she will return for a new series soon.

    UEE had always wanted to be an actress, but she began her career as a singer. In the MBC historical drama Queen Seondeok, she made her acting debut. She was quickly cast in You're Beautiful, an SBS musical drama. A few years later, she landed lead roles in the Korean dramas Birdie Buddy and Ojakgyo Family. At the Paeksang Arts Awards and the KBS Drama Awards, UEE was named Best New Actress. She made a name for herself, however, when she starred as a princess in the historical drama Jeon Woo-chi.


    UEE was able to consistently land lead roles after this point, including the drama Golden Rainbow, for which she received the Excellence Award at the 2013 MBC Drama Awards. She then starred in the romantic comedy Hogu's Love, the SBS drama High Society, the MBC drama Marriage Contract, and Night Light. She was able to devote her full attention to her acting career after graduating from After School. She eventually signed with a new management firm and got right to work. She was inactive for a few years before appearing in the Korean drama Ghost Doctor in 2022.

    Nara began her career as an acting trainee at Fantagio Entertainment. Her first television appearance was as a stewardess in the SBS drama Take Care of Us, Captain. Her breakthrough performance, however, came in the SBS romantic comedy-drama Suspicious Partner.


    She starred in the melodrama My Mister a year later, followed by the SBS legal drama Your Honor. Nara's breakthrough role came in 2019 with the KBS medical prison drama Doctor Prisoner.     Joy got her start in television by appearing on variety shows such as We Got Married. Joy is one of the newest female Kpop idols to appear in Korean dramas. Her acting debut came in the music-based Korean drama The Liar and His Lover, where she played the female lead. Joy was named Newcomer of the Year at the OSEN Cable TV Awards.

    Jisoo has appeared in dramas such as The Producers and the fantasy Korean drama Arthdal Chronicles as a cameo. She made her debut as the lead actress in the JTBC drama Snowdrop.


    Snowdrop takes place in November and December of 1987. Lim Soo-ho (Jung Hae-in) plays a graduate student who is discovered covered in blood by Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo), a female university student and is hidden from the government in her dorm room. But it soon becomes clear that Soo-ho is not who he appears to be. The pair's story unfolds against the backdrop of political upheaval, and the two develop a romantic relationship. After the drama aired, Jisoo received many compliments about her acting ability. Viewers also hope that she will have more prominent roles in the future as an actress.
