  4. One of the most anticipated dramas of 2019 was this romantic and fantasy series. Nam Joo-hyuk, for his part, morphed into Lee Joon-ha, an aspiring reporter who could never get a break. He quickly got acquainted with Kim Hye-ja (Han Ji-min), a lady who owns a time-bending watch. As a youngster, Hye-ja discovered the enchanted watch on the beach. But she subsequently discovered an urgent cause to utilize it: to keep her father from dying in a car accident. Turning back time, however, comes with a cost: she will age each time she does so.

Joon-ha became dissatisfied with his family troubles and gave up on his aspirations. He has fallen from favor and now works as a con artist at an aged care facility. 5. Nam Joo-hyuk portrayed Habaek, a god of the Land of Water, in this 16-episode drama. Habaek travels to Earth to obtain the sacred stones he requires to take the throne of the Divine Realm. He seeks the assistance of neuropsychiatrist So-ah (Shin Se-Kyung), who happens to be the last survivor of a middle-class family cursed to serve him for centuries. What's fascinating about this figure is that, despite being a deity, Habaek was clumsy in his human form.

So-ah was skeptical of Habaek's allegation because of his awkwardness. She refuses to accept he is a deity, instead mistaking him for having a mental disorder. But after meeting the gods of the Land of Water, the Land of Sky, and the demigod Hu-ye (Lim Ju-hwan), she understands she should assist him on his journey. Nam Joo-hyuk stated that portraying a god who was also clumsy was difficult. But he managed to achieve a balance while keeping the character's god-like air.

  6. Nam Joo-hyuk played Jung Joon-hyung in this 2016 adolescent drama, which would become one of his most memorable performances. This drama, inspired by real-life weightlifter Jang Mi-ran, not only paid honor to the sport but also captivated viewers' hearts. Many people were intrigued by the coming-of-age drama about Kim Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung), an ambitious weightlifter on the road to self-discovery. Bok-joo is unlike your average adolescent since she has committed herself to weightlifting. But her path was turned upside down when she fell in love with Joon-hyung, a fellow student at the same school who was preparing for the national swim team.

Many were amazed by how Joo-hyuk depicted his character in a coming-of-age drama that tackled themes like athletics, family troubles, and even delicate subjects like despair. As his affections for Bok-joo got stronger, he realized he had a lot to learn from her as they both journeyed towards recovery. Not for nothing did Joo-hyuk look the part, as he was a swoon-worthy swimmer. His onscreen chemistry with Sung-kyung was so good that it's almost heartbreaking knowing that their real-life romance, which grew as a result of this drama, didn't play out as well.

  7. Scarlet Heart Ryeo is a 2016 K-drama featuring a stellar cast. Fans love the drama, which stars IU, Lee Joon Gi, Kang Ha Neul, Kang Ha Na, Ji Soo, Baekhyun, and others. Nam Joo Hyuk joins the cast as the 13th prince Wang Wook, a passionate playboy with sophisticated and aristocratic manners. This was Joo-first hyuk's historical drama, in which he co-starred with his best friend Ji-soo.

In this story, Go Ha-jin (Lee Ji-eun) drowns in a lake and comes up for air only to find herself in the Goryeo era. She is then magically transported to the year 941 in the body of Hae-soo. In her confusion and desperate attempt to fit in, it was not hard to fall for 8th Prince Wang Wook—a man who was gentle and kind-hearted. But as she came to meet the other princes, the mysterious Prince Wang So (Lee Joon-gi) piqued her interest. He is terrifying, but his face is hidden under a mask. People avoid him, and he was given the pejorative nickname "wolf dog".

  8. The story revolves around Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun), a top student in her university's business department. She returns to school after a semester away. Nobody knows the exact reason for her disappearance, but it has something to do with Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin). Hong Seol realized the truth about him and, rather than exposing it or succumbing to his veiled threats, she chose to quit school. When she returned, she was surprised to learn that Yoo Jung had treated her better since their last meeting. What's weirder is when she realizes he's been surreptitiously assisting her through his own dubious tactics. As a budding relationship develops between Seol and Jung, they must confront their own flaws and doubts about each other to find happiness.

Nam Joo Hyuk portrays Kwon Eun Taek, Hong Seol's buddy and junior, and her pal Bo-ra (Park Min-ji). In the webtoon, Joo-hyuk’s character is described as a tall and cute college student, who seems a little clumsy and awkward at times but is really a reliable and trustworthy friend. He's also madly in love with Bo-ra. Joo-hyuk was excited to take on this role since he was a fan of the webtoon series that inspired the drama. The show's creator thinks he's the perfect fit for his role since he, like Eun Taek, has numerous attractions.
