1 William Street is a high-rise building on William Street in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and is the third-tallest building in the city at 259.8 m (852 ft). This Art Nouveau office building is located right next to the Houses of Parliament in Brisbane CBD. The building is designed for the Queensland State Government as part of a government plan to renovate a public administrative division and meet housing demand. It was completed in October 2016 and has accommodated more than 5,000 civil servants in six weeks.
1 William Street is a 6778 sq m (72,960 sq ft) property owned by the Queensland Government and served as a government parking lot from 1982 to 2013. The site covers the entire city block between William, Alice and Margaret Streets and Riverside Street.
