Agnes School

Agnes School is also one of the best British schools in Brussels. It is a Catholic school for children in grades 2 through 11. Its mission is to assist parents in raising their children to become considerate young men and women who live honorable Christian lives. The organization was founded on the idea that parents are a child's first teachers.

In addition to encouraging students to pursue academic excellence, the school's individualized tutorial program makes sure that students are also encouraged to cultivate positive character traits like resilience, joy, generosity, and responsibility. They are also urged to participate actively in our extensive and varied extracurricular offerings.

Brussels' central district is where Agnes School is situated. The school's classrooms are spacious and open. Two play areas (one designated for the school and one for the nursery) and a sizable playground are present. Primary lessons are held on municipal grounds owned by the school.

The children can learn in an ideal setting outside of the classroom thanks to the covered play area outside. Additionally, the school features a lovely chapel where the holy sacrament is kept.

The educational program at Agnes School Secondary aims to support student's academic and personal excellence, in keeping with the traditions of our preschool and primary school. Three core commitments form the foundation of the educational program:

  • Catholic School: in essence, beliefs, and way of living.
  • Immersion in two languages plus the addition of a third in S1 constitute bilingualism.
  • An all-encompassing approach to education: we think that students can thrive and give their all when the four dimensions of intelligence, heart, body, and soul are developed in harmony.

Learners will take the CE1D in S2 and the CE2D in S4, enabling transfers from or to standard Belgian educational institutions. After six years of secondary education, Agnes School strives for the International Baccalaureate (IB).

The addition of a second foreign language in secondary school improves the bilingual education that is already provided in preschool and primary school. French makeup 60% of the instruction, followed by English or Dutch for the second language (30%) and Dutch or English for the third language (10%). Students in S1 and S2 will take 19 hours of French each week, covering language arts, mathematics, geography, history, Latin, and religion.

Agnes School strives for students to receive the Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal in L2-Dutch and the C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Advanced English — CAE) in L2-English after their six years of secondary education.
