British International School of Brussels
A tiny elementary school in Belgium is called the British International School of Brussels (BISB). Children from over 30 different nationalities receive an education at the school that is based on the English National Curriculum. The independent, fee-paying BISB school is located close to the RTBF television center in the southern part of Schaerbeek.
The school installed Promethean interactive whiteboards with an integrated projector, making it the first in continental Europe. As of right now, interactive whiteboards are installed in every classroom, from nursery to year six.
Since BISB is a non-selective school, most applicants have informal interviews with the headteacher before being admitted, provided they are in Belgium. Additionally, admission is contingent upon space being available in the necessary year group.
From Nursery through the conclusion of Key Stage 2, BISB provides a top-notch education to students of all ages. The National Curriculum for England serves as the foundation for the education offered by the British International School of Brussels.
The curriculum for courses like geography and history has been modified to accommodate the vastly different backgrounds of our student body and to represent the multicultural character of the school in Belgium, the center of Europe. Native English speakers teach the curriculum in that language, and non-native English speakers can get specialized help. Native speakers teach the language in French language classes.
The BISB primary school years are separated into two phases, known as Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The core academic subjects that are taught in these phases are science, math, and English. Additionally, cross-curricular subjects like geography, history, design, technology, art, and music are taught. Along with sports, gymnastics, dance, and outdoor education programs, physical activity is also prioritized.
