Ahlbeck on Usedom
Ahlbeck is one of the three Imperial baths on Usedom's island. Heringsdorf and Bansin are the other two nearby towns. The longest promenade in Europe connects the three beach resorts to Swinemünde, Poland. Enjoy long walks along the beach for 12 kilometers. You may appreciate the spectacular villas in the style of Baltic coastal resort architecture along the promenade and "Dünenstraße." These are only a few of the reasons why Ahlbeck is famed for its beauty, richness, and exclusivity.
The Wilhelminian pier is Usedom's most distinctive and photographed landmark. Did you know that the pier was used as the setting for Loriot's renowned film "Pappa ante portas"? The pier, which is 280 meters long, was erected in 1899.
With 508 meters, Heringsdorf's pier is the longest in Germany. It has a number of stores and eateries. During a break, take advantage of the opportunity to photograph the XXL beach chair at Heringsdorf beach promenade. At the end of Zinnowitz pier, there is a diving gondola that allows you to plunge down to the Baltic Sea's bottom without getting wet. Admire the colorful array of fish, jellyfish, crabs, shells, and other sea creatures, and learn about the Baltic Sea flora from the knowledgeable staff. A regular ferry service connects the seaside resorts to Poland.
