Allegiant Stadium
Allegiant Stadium completed in 2020, the new home of Las Vegas Raiders hit a whopping $1.9 billion in sales. The 65,000-seat facility is also the home stadium of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. At nearly two million square feet, it's no surprise that this stadium is quite pricey. The facility includes a translucent roof to let in daylight outdoors and walls that can be opened up to look out onto the Las Vegas Strip.
But walls and windows weren't the only reason Allegiant cost nearly two billion dollars. One of the most expensive features is the site: the stadium is built with two separate playing fields. The first, made of artificial grass, is used by UNVL for college games. The second field is made of real grass, planted in a giant earthen tray that can be rolled out on hundreds of electronic wheels. The £20 million, 4-foot-deep field allows Raiders to play on real grass and dirt - even in the middle of the desert. With these features, Allegiant Stadium deserves to be the second most expensive stadium in the world.
