Optus Stadium
Perth Stadium, now known as Optus Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Burswood. It was completed at the end of 2017 and officially opened on January 21, 2018. Optus Stadium is mainly used for football and cricket under Australian law. Optus Stadium was built by a consortium led by Multiplex. The announcement of the Burswood venue in June 2011 followed a series of previous proposals for the stadium, including venues in Subiaco and East Perth. Optus Stadium was awarded the 2019 World Prix Versailles in the Sports category. With a total construction cost of up to $1 billion, Optus stadium is ranked 10th in the most expensive stadiums today.
