American International School of Lusaka
The American International School of Lusaka (AISL) is a co-educational, independent day school for students aged 3 to 18. It was established in 1986. With a student body of around 580 students, the school is fully accredited globally by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (US) and the Council of International Schools (UK).
Students come from all over the world, with around 35% being European, 24% being North and South American, 33% being African, and 8% being Australasian. AISL's curriculum and programming reflect the school's international focus. Only a few African schools are permitted to offer all three IB programs: the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP), and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Also, the school usually organizes many extracurricular activities, such as school trips, community service, performing arts, sports, and summer programs.
