Sandford International School
Sandford International School was previously known as Sandford English Community School. Currently, expatriates account for around 73 percent of the teaching staff at the institution.
In 2001, Sandford English Community School was renamed Sandford International School, and instead of IGCSE A levels, it began providing the International Baccalaureate (IB) as a pre-university course for years 12 and 13.
A primary school for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, a secondary school for students in grades seven through thirteen, and an adult evening school are the three components of the school. Ethiopian National Examinations are offered in Years 8 and 10.
IGCSE is offered in Years 11 and 13, and the International Baccalaureate is offered in Years 13. The school has roughly 700 students, representing about 50 different nationalities. Ethiopian students account for a significant portion of the student body.
The school collaborates closely with a number of organizations, including the Ethiopian Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and others. The Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) and the International Baccalaureate Organization are both members of the school.
