Back to the Future
Back to the Future, directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by him and Bob Gale, is a 1985 American science fiction film. Marty McFly (Fox) is a teenager who is unintentionally propelled back in time to 1955 in a DeLorean vehicle manufactured by his eccentric scientist buddy Doctor Emmett "Doc" Brown (Lloyd). Marty is trapped in the past and unwittingly prevents his future parents from meeting, endangering his life. He is compelled to reconcile the two and find a way to return to the future.
Back to the Future has gained in popularity in the years after its release, and is now regarded as one of the best films of the 1980s, one of the best science-fiction films ever created, and one of the greatest films of all time. The film was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress in 2007.
