Barsakelmes Lake
Barsakelmes Lake is situated in Kazakhstan's southern region. South of the Almaty region and southwest of the Taraz region, in the southeast of the nation, is where the Lake is located. The Lake is 20 km wide and 50 km long. Tectonically, the Lake is active. It is a cracked and broken lake. a sizable caldera. During the Tertiary era, the Lake was formed. The Lake's lowest point is there. It belongs to the volcanic system of the Korgon and Karaganda.
Both the natural and human histories of the place are included in its history. It is known as the first national park of the former Soviet Union since it survived the Krasnobor forest fires in 1940. On Barsakelmes Lake, the first dam was constructed in 1958. Following then, the Lake's potential as a purification reservoir was investigated. Nuclear power stations were first proposed by D.I. Khudyakov (1910–1986), the first Soviet developer. A facility was completed in 1975, the first phase got under way in 1978, and the first proposal was approved in 1970. In 1980, the entire park was established.
Fishing and water sports are ideal there. The beaches along the Yertyt River are among the most popular spots. Barsakelmes Lake offers a variety of interesting locations in addition to water sports, such as a tall hill in the middle of the lake, a stronghold constructed in the 19th century, a castle from the 18th century, and the Museum of Local History.
