Bonny Island
Bonny Island is a small island off the coast of Rivers State in Niger Delta area. It's close to Port Harcourt. The major mode of transportation to and from the island is by ferry. Ndoki, an Igbo dialect, is the native language spoken on Bonny Island.
The island of Bonny is the seat of a traditional state known as the Kingdom of Bonny, which is located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean on the Bight of Bonny.
Bonny is one of Nigeria's most lively villages, with a thriving traditional system and a rich cultural legacy. King Edward William Asimini Dappa Pepple III, Perekule XI, acts as amanyanabo and natural ruler of her traditional institution. Because the chiefs' council is traditionally viewed as a commonwealth of autonomous nations that joined together for the sole purpose of safeguarding the kingdom as a whole, each high chief ruled his house independently.
Bonny Island is recognized as Nigeria's richest island because, in addition to being a popular tourist destination, it is also home to the world's most valuable natural resource, oil. It is home to various oil companies, including LNG Jetty and Shell Jetty Kidney Island, as it is Nigeria's oil island. Bonny features a variety of tourist attractions, including Bonny Nature Park, Finima Nature Park, and various beaches, in addition to being an industrial island.
