Boys Don’t Cry (1999)

Boys Don't Cry is a biographical film directed by Kimberly Peirce and co-written by Peirce and Andy Bienen that was released in 1999. The film is based on the true tale of Brandon Teena (played by Hilary Swank), an American trans guy who wants to discover himself and love in Nebraska but is victimized by two male acquaintances in a terrible hate crime. Lana Tisdel, Teena's girlfriend, is played by Chloe Sevigny.
