Hedwig and The Angry Inch (2001)
Hedwig is a transgender lady who has to live with an "angry inch" when a sex reassignment operation goes wrong, as directed by John Cameron Mitchell. The film follows a strong, confident, and energetic German lady as she tours the United States with her rock band, following her former homosexual lover's stolen compositions after she stood by him as a musical mentor and partner.
Hedwig recounts aspects of her life and provides us insight into her tangled background and gender identity throughout her electrifying musical odyssey. The famous figure of Hedwig, directed and led by John Cameron Mitchell as the magnificent protagonist from Mitchell and Stephen Trask's 1998 stage musical, is certainly one of a kind and has stayed in one's memory even after so many years. Hedwig, go!
