Ma Vie en Rose (1997)

Ma vie en rose (English: My Life in Pink) is a Belgian drama film directed by Alain Berliner that was released in 1997. Ludovic, a transgender female, is the protagonist of the film. Ludovic's family and community struggle to embrace her gender identification in the film. The film was chosen as Belgium's submission for the 70th Academy Awards' Best Foreign Language Film category, however, it was not recognized as a nominee.

The young girl enjoys dressing up as a lady and fantasizes about marrying his lover, Ken. The film's well-crafted screenplay and outstanding performance by main actor Georges Du Fresne give it a warm and heartfelt tone that sets it apart from the others on the list. The character fights with hard truths, rejections, and being teased for realizing his actual identity as the film unfolds. Ludovic, on the other hand, does not let others' opinions determine who he is.
