Bundeena
The small waterfront village of Bundeena is tucked away in the center of the Royal National Park. With its segregated sea coasts, uncrowded hedge walks, and very close local region, it is a ship trip and a world away from Sydney's bustling rural areas.
The issue in this case is accessibility, not moderateness. There are no inns, so you must compete with locals for use of their holiday houses. Most business owners get involved over the holiday season but let loose in early January. Bundeena Treehouse, a one-room, one-bathroom uphill getaway, serves as an example.
Jibbon Beach is a beautiful place to swim but is only accessible via bush walk or kayak. On one side of the ocean, there are significant Aboriginal stone sculptures made by the traditional Dharawal owners. Rent a kayak at the Bonnie Vale excursion area, paddle the Port Hacking River for some lunchtime fried fish and fries, or try to schedule your visit with the monthly Bundeena Saltwater Market.
