Second Valley

Second Valley is a part of the Yankalilla District Council's local government region, the Mawson State Electoral District, and the Mayo Federal Division. Calling Second Valley lazy is a compliment since it is so unassuming and simple in its convenience options - the band park is your best bet - that it leaves you with nothing better to do than to merely bask in the breathtaking magnificence of your surroundings.

The name comes from the fact that it is the valley to the north of Rapid Bay, where Colonel William Light's first camp on the South Australian peninsula was located. It is a well-liked scuba diving location. The variety of activities and chances for exploration have been mentioned as contributing factors in the ranking of Second Valley as one of Australia's top ten beaches despite its tiny size.

Follow the river's broad valley along the ocean to a chasm through which the little Parananacooka Creek flows. The boulevard that runs alongside the water displays utter grandeur. In addition, a small headland is connected to a north-bending stone ocean side toward the west by rock reefs.
