Marcoola
Never heard of Marcoola before? We are not surprised. We love being here because the small Sunshine Coast town continues to be overlooked in favor of its neighboring cities of Noosa and Maroochydore. Find unpopulated seashores, the Maroochy River at its secondary channel, and lots of lush parklands that provide the perfect location for a family barbecue.
The most amazing thing to do in Marcoola is very little. Additionally, for a comprehensive view of the coast and hinterland whenever you need to get your heart pumping, stroll up Mt. Coolum's highest point. Marcoola is home to the urban areas of Town of Seaside and Mount Coolum Shores, as well as a portion of the pristine Mount Coolum National Park, the Maroochy River, and the Maroochy River Catchment Area.
The Sunshine Coast Airport is situated inside the Marcoola city limits. The Marcoola coastline region contains a number of "nationally important wetlands" and "protected area" areas and is a part of the Temperate East Marine Region of the Australian Commonwealth.
