Point Lonsdale

On the Bellarine Peninsula, close to Queenscliff in Victoria, Australia, there is a beach community called Point Lonsdale. The City of Greater Geelong and the Borough of Queenscliffe share the town. Another headland that frames The Rip, the entrance to Port Phillip, along with Point Nepean is Point Lonsdale. The Point Lonsdale Lighthouse dominates the headland. There were 2,684 people living in Point Lonsdale as of the 2016 Census. Due to its prominence as a vacation spot, the population increases quickly from the summer to the Easter season.

The seaside gem of Bellarine is Point Lonsdale, or Lonny to the locals. For those who are aware of it, this tiny community at the tip of the promontory rewards them with an abundance of fascinating little stores and bistros to explore. There are other ways to fill your schedule than sitting on a towel all day. Stretch your legs by walking to the notable beacon, swimming in the safe ocean side, or playing nine holes on the nearby fairway.
