Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley, covering 32,000 hectares. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years.
The forest here is one of the richest in Africa, containing almost 400 species of plants. There are an estimated 320 mountain gorillas (roughly half of the world's population), 350 species of birds, 120 mammals, and a lot more. The stunning scenery of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a fitting setting in which to behold these fantastic and unforgettable creatures. You should head deeper into the mountains for a chance to see the majestic mountain gorillas up close in their natural habitat and hear beautiful birdsong echoing. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 due to its biodiversity.
