Kidepo Valley National Park
Kidepo Valley National Park is the park which was established in 1962 and spans a surface area of 1442km2 with an elevation ranging from 914 to 270 meters above sea level, was gazetted in 1962. It is situated in a semi-arid region between Uganda's Sudanese and Kenyan borders. In comparison to the other of Uganda's national parks, this secluded and stunningly gorgeous park is relatively unvisited. Kidepo is a superb habitat for animals, with over 70 mammal species and 475 bird species, as well as two rivers, Kidepo and Narus, which dry up during the dry season.
Although travelers are welcome to visit the park at any time of year, the optimum time to visit is during the dry season (January – May and October – December), when 4WD vehicles are recommended to avoid becoming stuck. Many travelers planning an African safari, particularly Uganda wildlife safaris and culture tours, are increasingly choosing the park as their favorite destination.
