Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls is located on the western side of Uganda just north of the midway part of the country. A trip to the falls offers visitors to experience one of the world's most powerful waterfalls as well as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders, with views of the Nile River. The Nile waters spray dramatically and fiercely out of a narrow breach between the rocks here, blanketing everything in its path in a fine mist of spray.
Although the park is best known for the magnificent Murchison Falls, it is also a fantastic site to go on a safari and see some of Africa's most remarkable species. The park has the greatest number of Nile crocodiles in the world. Besides, there are around 75 species of animals in addition to the vast number of crocodiles. The lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant, waterbuck, hartebeest, buffalo, hippopotamus, and chimpanzee are among the larger and more popular wildlife species. Approximately 800 chimps live across the national park boundaries. Murchison Falls National Park is also a haven for bird watchers with over 450 species of birds that nest or migrate through the park.
