C: Control - The Money and Soul of Possibility
Kimimaro Yoga discovered that surviving without money is a genuinely difficult challenge as a young uni student. Despite this, Yoga persists in attempting to live despite others around him benefitting from what seems to be divinely bestowed luck.
Yoga's life changes dramatically, though, when a mysterious stranger approaches and hands him a ticket that would enable him to earn money and live the way he wants. Regrettably, this requires visiting a parallel universe where individuals like Yoga are forced to wager their lives in bizarre conflicts. You will get wealth if you win. If you lose, your life will rapidly deteriorate and plunge into a pit that will shortly become hell.
Money is the source of all evil, and no anime better illustrates this than C: Control - The Money and Soul of Possibility. Despite its almost shounen-like appearance, C: Control has often wowed us with its examination of the rich vs. poor and greed vs. meek existence. We appreciate how C: Control puts such topics front and center while entertaining and thrilling, owing to incredible action sequences and a compelling plot. C: Control - The Money and Soul of Possibility is certainly worth a look, and maybe someday it will rise from its current obscurity!
