Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake is a reservoir on the Guadalupe River with an excellent spot for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. Whether you're visiting Canyon Lake to hunt, fish, camp, swim or simply relax, there's always something fun to do!
Canyon Lake is a gem of the Texas Hill Country, located midway between San Antonio and Austin and 30 minutes from New Braunfels. The Guadalupe River runs through the lake, and the water is crystal clear. Boating, fishing, and lakefront hiking are all popular activities at Canyon Lake. On the lake, the Army Corps of Engineers maintains eight developed recreation sites. Tent camping and RV camping are available in some locations, such as Canyon Park and Fort Sam Houston Recreation Area. Other day-use areas include Guadalupe Park and Comal Park, both of which provide picnic tables and hiking trails. Overlook Park has a special walking trail that runs along the top of Canyon Dam.
