Chicago Pride Parade

The Chicago Pride Parade, also known as the Chicago Gay Pride Parade or PRIDE Chicago, is an annual pride parade held in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, on the final Sunday in June. According to the Chicago City Council and Mayor, it is the pinnacle of the greater Gay and Lesbian Pride Month in Chicago. The Pride Parade in Chicago draws one of the biggest crowds worldwide. The celebration of LGBTQ rights, also known as the Equal Rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer People, takes place outside. This is definitely one of the best pride festivals and parades in the US.

Illinois politicians have expanded their attendance at the Chicago Pride Parade as a result of the rising political involvement of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Americans as well as the community's comparatively strong financial resources from political action groups and individual donations. Both the Democratic and Republican parties in Illinois have been well-represented, perhaps most notably by former Democratic governor Rod Blagojevich and Republican former treasurer Judy Baar Topinka. Many gay and lesbian voters strongly backed both candidates.
