Coin Locker Girl (2015)
Coin Locker Girl is a 2015 South Korean film written and directed by Han Jun-hee, starring Kim Hye-soo, Kim Go-eun, Uhm Tae-goo with Park Bo-gum and Go Kyung-pyo. It was selected to screen in the International Critics' Week section of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Kim Go Eun co-stars in "Coin Locker Girl" with Kim Hye Soo, Um Tae Goo, Park Bo Gum, and Go Kyung Pyo, to mention a few. She portrays Il Young, an impoverished girl who conducts perilous and often illegal missions for her mother, to whom she was sold when she was 10 years old. She is obliged to conduct an errand for her mother one day and meets Suk Hyun (Park Bo Gum). They become great friends, and Il Young begins to develop affection for him.
Seeing Kim Go Eun in a role like this just strengthens her place in the entertainment business. Kim Go Eun's ability to change Il Young from a cold and dark girl who couldn't care less about anybody else's life to a warm-hearted young girl who only wants to be loved is one you don't want to miss. You get to witness a side of Kim Go Eun that is both sensitive and gritty, which is incredible for a debut performer.
