The King: Eternal Monarch (2020)

In the 2020 South Korean television series The King: Eternal Monarch, Lee Min-ho, Kim Go-eun, Woo Do-hwan, Kim Kyung-nam, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Jung-jin feature. The series debuted on SBS TV and Netflix for a worldwide audience on April 17, 2020, with writing by Kim Eun-sook and production by Hwa&Dam Pictures and its parent company Studio Dragon.


In the Violent Crimes Squad Three of the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea, Jeong Tae-eul (Go-eun) holds the rank of Inspector, which is comparable to Lieutenant in the Korean Armed Forces. She has a resolute attitude and a strong will. She was drawn to criminal TV series as a youngster, which inspired her to pursue a career as a detective.


The criminal Luna (Go-eun) exists in the Kingdom of Corea. She was left in a Busan slum not long after birth. She is not included in any official documents because she has no parents and no identity. As she became older, more crimes were added to her arrest history, including forgery, assault, and breaking and entering. Due to her captivity, she was given the name Luna, which she chose for herself in honor of a stray cat that had survived in the slum. In addition, she has a limited time left to live due to organ failure brought on by her terminal malignancy.
