Sunset in My Hometown (2018)
Sunset in My Hometown is a 2018 South Korean drama film and the thirteenth feature film directed by Lee Joon-ik. The film stars Park Jeong-min and Kim Go-eun. Park Jeong-min is Hak-soo, an unsuccessful rapper in Seoul who returns to his long-abandoned hometown of Byeonsan in the countryside following a phone call from home. Kim Go-eun as Sun-mi, Hak-soo's childhood classmate.
For the last six years, underground rapper Hak Soo has competed in TV audition programs but has never made it to the finals. On the day he fails his seventh audition, he receives a phone call from his hometown informing him that his father is in the hospital. He hurries back to his hometown of Byun San, where he hasn't been since high school, only to discover that it was his father's plan to bring him there. He instantly returns to Seoul, but he is accused of being a phishing scammer and is imprisoned in Byun San, a tiny, uninteresting suburb.
