Confidential Assignment
Confidential Assignment is a South Korean action film released in 2017. Im Cheol-ryung (Hyun Bin) is a North Korean special investigation team officer. His team responds to a disturbance at a warehouse where counterfeit money is printed. Cha Ki-seong (Kim Joo-hyuk), Im Cheol-ryung's superior, and his own team are on the scene to steal the master plates used to print the counterfeit money. A shootout occurs, during which Im Cheol-ryung is shot and others are killed.
Officials in North Korea later learn that Cha Ki-seong has fled to South Korea. Im Cheol-ryung is dispatched to apprehend Cha Ki-seong and recover the stolen master plates. He has three days to complete his mission. For the first time, South Korea and North Korea agree to work together to apprehend a criminal. South Korean officials, however, are skeptical that Cha Ki-seong is a murderer. Detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin) of Seoul is assigned to keep a close eye on Im Cheol-ryung while he is in South Korea.
