Dhofar University
Dhofar University (DU) was founded in 2004 and is located in Oman. The campus is sprawling and features a seamless blend of modern and traditional Omani architecture. It can hold up to 10,000 students at any given time. It is the region's only university that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These are available through four colleges: arts and applied sciences, commerce and business administration, engineering, and law. The majority of classes are taught in English, but there are a few programs available in Arabic.
On campus, DU provides free furnished housing as well as local transportation for its female students. There are four accommodation buildings in total, with a total capacity of 1,000 students. Inside the hostel, there is a restaurant, a supermarket, a study hall, a gymnasium, and recreation rooms. There are two cafeterias on campus, one for male and one for female students, as well as a centrally located mosque and an on-campus health clinic. WIFI is available in all buildings and throughout the campus.
The Student Affairs Department is in charge of all student affairs. The office can also help students plan and organize a variety of on- and off-campus student functions. There are art exhibitions, performances, poetry readings, environmental awareness events, and presentations all year.
