Diar il-Bniet
This family-run farmhouse restaurant is something special, located in a historic farmhouse in the heart of Dingli village. All of the produce comes from 'the girls' house, their farm 200 meters away, or other local farmers. Stuffed aubergines or courgettes, homemade pies, and fried rabbit are among the main courses, which are followed by sweets like date and anisette tart. There are also platters available. The café is rustically decorated, with seasonal vegetables from the estate prominently exhibited. There's nothing arrogant here; only honesty thrives, and it tastes fantastic. With the addition of several foreign favorites, the wine list of home-grown wines is world-class. Expect delicacies that have been passed down through the centuries and exhibit the actual home-cooked flavor of these Mediterranean islands at this completely authentic Maltese eatery.
Diar il-Bniet is more than simply a restaurant in Malta; it's a culinary journey that takes you from the fields to your forks. Many of the menu items are associated with Maltese culture; for example, homemade sheep cheese ravioli with traditional tomato sauce, zesty pumpkin soup with wild thyme and sheep's cheese, spaghetti with calamari and olive stew, and varied tuna and ricotta pies offer an excellent first impression. Stuffed aubergines with minced beef and pig are famous here for their main dishes. The rabbit fried in oil, wine, and garlic provides a true flavor of Malta's national meal. Served with an excellent blend of crunchy roast potatoes and peasant vegetables. The essence is really genuine, served with a superb blend of crunchy roast potatoes and varied fresh vegetables. House-made desserts are outstanding; the deep-fried imqaret with elat tan-nanna is a must-try, or try one of the great puddings and cakes. Enjoy a symphony of flavors with home-cooked meals.
