Eleuthera
Eleuthera is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas, along with Harbour Island, Windermere Island, Current Island, and Man Island, and it is located 80 kilometres (50 miles) east of Nassau. It is 180 kilometres (110 miles) long and only 1.6 kilometres (1 mile) wide in sections. It faces the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Great Bahama Bank on the west. Gregory Settlement is the main town on the island, with pastel houses dotting the steep hillsides. There are also acres of pineapple fields, which has given the town the nickname "Pineapple City."
Eleuthera's main attractions include French Leave Beach, Lighthouse Beach, the Glass Window Bridge, Vic Hums Night Club, Tarpum Bay, Bannerman Town, and Hatchet Bay. Eleuthera is best visited during the off-season months of May to October. This will ensure that there are fewer people and lower lodging rates.
