The Exuma

The Exuma is an out island in the Bahamas that contains up to 365 islands and cays. Great Exuma is the largest of the cays, measuring 37 miles (60 kilometres) in length and connected to another island, Little Exuma, by a tiny bridge. The Exuma is regarded as one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas due to its sparsely populated soft white-sand beaches and stunning blue waters.

The Exumas are a heaven for those who love powdered soft white sand beaches and turquoise waters. These islands should be on the bucket list of everyone who enjoys sailing, snorkelling, or other water sports. The Regatta is one of the oldest festivals in the Bahamas, and it is typically held in April. During the Great Exuma Regatta and other major events, the islands take on a party vibe (particularly in George Town), but aside from the occasional event, you'll have plenty of peace and quiet, as well as more white-sand beach to yourself. Furthermore, you may visit Pig Beach on Big Major Cay to swim with adorable Bahamian pigs.

The swimming pigs of Big Major Cay, Thunderball Grotto, Coco Plum Beach, Moriah Harbor Cay Beach, Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Course and Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park are the main attractions in The Exumas. You can visit this island in March and April for the greatest weather when it's warm and the skies are clear. However, any time throughout the winter dry season, from early November to mid-May, is ideal: temperatures average a pleasant 26°C (78°F), with generally consistent and cooling easterly trade winds.
