Gnocchi (potato puffs)

Gnocchi are bite-sized puffs of cooked potato that are rolled together, boiled, and gently seasoned with a velvety butter sauce or a light red wine and tomato sauce, as well as local fish taken just off the coast of Monaco.

This world-renowned meal, which is also one of Monaco's famed foods, may surprise many by being a traditional feast. These light fluffy pillows are served with local seafood gathered that day from the Monaco beach in a velvet-like butter sauce or a light tomato and cream sauce.

Chef Alain Ducasse's gnocchi is served with fresh truffles (in season) at his restaurant, Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and has been acclaimed as one of the best Italian meals by numerous guests.
