Golden Century
As furiously as the fruit that drives these celebrations, many late-night business meetings and decadent second feasts have washed through the rustic fit of Golden Century. This Chinatown classic may be the most well-known restaurant in Sydney's hospitality business. Countless late-night lobsters have been cracked beside the kitchen's legendary XO pippies, evoking a truly best-in-class seafood restaurant that never fails to deliver.
There are lots of alternatives on the vast menu if you want to try all of the hoopla. Start with the steamed live prawns and XO scallops, then move on to the more expensive dishes like braised abalone with Chinese mushrooms and the two-course live lobster feast, where the lobster meat is served first with wasabi and kikkoman soy sauce, followed by the shells and claws, which are served either fresh with ginger and shallot or deep-fried with chili.
