Ben Affleck's feature-length directorial debut, Gone Baby Gone, is a 2007 American murder thriller film. Based on Dennis Lehane's 1998 novel Gone, Baby, Gone, Affleck co-wrote the script with Aaron Stockard. Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan feature as two private detectives on the hunt for a small child who has been kidnapped from her single mother's apartment in Boston's Dorchester district.
The film was well-received by reviewers and earned $34 million worldwide against a $19 million budget when it was released on October 19, 2007. Many critics praised Ben Affleck's directing debut, and Amy Ryan was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
