Phil Lord and Christopher Miller wrote and directed The Lego Movie, a 2014 computer-animated adventure comedy film based on a story by Lord, Miller, and Dan and Kevin Hageman. Its plot revolves around Emmet, an ordinary LEGO construction worker who is recruited to join a mission to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the LEGO universe into eternal stasis.
It was a critical and commercial success, grossing $468.1 million worldwide against a budget of $60–65 million, and receiving praise for its animation, performances, plot, and comedy.
